Well, it wasn’t just a lot of fans who felt let down by Game of Thrones‘ finale. It seems that a lot of the stars on the cast felt the same. The latest to express her disappointment in what could have been an epic closure is Emilia Clarke. The Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Mother of Dragons and so on didn’t like the fact that her lover-nephew didn’t pay harshly for the murder he committed in front of the Iron Throne.
“And yeah, was I annoyed that Jon Snow didn’t have to deal with something?” she said to The Sunday Times. “He got away with murder — literally.”
All things considered, Clarke has a point. After all, Snow spent a relatively small amount of time in prison before leaving for his new home beyond the Wall with his army of Wildlings.
Clarke agrees with the fans saying that the final season condensed should have been developed “for a little longer.” The actress also kind of guessed that a backlash would follow.
“When the show did end, it was like coming out of a bunker. Everything felt really strange. Then obviously for it to have the backlash it did …” she added. “I knew how I felt when I first read it, and I tried, at every turn, not to consider too much what other people might say, but I did always consider what the fans might think — because we did it for them, and they were the ones who made us successful, so … it’s just polite, isn’t it?”
The British actress then confessed that she isn’t done with fantasy movies. Unsurprisingly, she left her door open for a call by Marvel Studios.
“I want to do something absolutely stupid and silly, like, you know, The Avengers or whatever. Something where I got to have a giggle with mates.”
