The CW’s Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover event is adding another Flash to the party. A report from TV Insider confirms that John Wesley Shipp is the latest actor to join the series. He’ll portray a Flash. although the report didn’t confirm which one.
Shipp portrayed Barry Allen/The Flash in the CBS series of the same name from 1990 to 1991. He also returned to portray both Henry Allen and Jay Garrick, aka the Flash of Earth-2, in The CW’s latest series. During the 2018 Elseworlds crossover event, Shipp reprised his role as the Barry Allen from The Flash‘s ’90s TV series. However, he disappeared following a fight with the Monitor. Presumably there will be a resolution to his fate in Crisis.
Crisis On Infinite Earths is set to tie in all of the CW’s current shows into a massive 5 episode story running through Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Batwoman and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Brandon Routh and Tyler Hoechlin will both appear as Superman, although they will be playing vastly different incarnations of the iconic hero. Black Lightning and Jonah Hex have also been confirmed for the crossover event. Other additions will likely be announced in the months ahead, leading to Crisis on Infinite Earths‘ premiere in December.
