The CW’s Crisis on Infinite Earths Crossover Will Unite 5 Shows

Earlier this week, the season finales of Arrow and The Flash broadly teased the upcoming Crisis. In fact, The Flash has been building towards Crisis since the first episode of the series. At The CW upfront, the network offered a few additional details about the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover. And this time, the entire Arrowverse will take part in the story.

Supergirl will once again join the annual crossover. However, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will also take part after sitting out of last year’s Elseworlds. The recently ordered Batwoman series will round out the crossover; which will be The CW’s biggest to date. That’s also why only two or three parts of Crisis will air in 2019. The remaining episodes will premiere in early 2020.

In Marv Wolfman and George Perez’s original Crisis miniseries, the DC multiverse was threatened by the Anti-Monitor. The various DC heroes of alternate worlds teamed up to defeat the villain who could wipe them from existence. However, both the Flash (Barry Allen) and Supergirl died in the conflict. After the story was finished, all of DC’s surviving heroes lived on a single combined Earth.

It’s unlikely that The CW would kill off both the Flash and Supergirl. But Barry Allen has been fated to “disappear” after the Crisis. Additionally, Oliver Queen’s death has also been predicted, and that seems more likely to happen since Arrow will end after season 8.
