Magic’s introduction to the Arrowverse is a consequence the Legends’ battle against Mallus in season 3. After the first season, the minds behind the show embraced the sandbox potential of the shared universe. Everything is on the table and there are no consequences from the other shows. For example, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will not be part of the yearly crossover. Instead they will be crossing over with themselves. DC’s Legends is daring anyone to ignore them.

Constantine’s addition to the cast is worth it just for his line, “I know a swamp… thing.” Evil felt puppets have been a CW classic since the WB days and the unforgettable Angel episode “Smile Time.” All manor of fantasy and horror characters will potentially battle the time and space travelling heroes this year. Depending on how well this works, this show could be almost be called an American Doctor Who.

That was until Constantine arrived to inform them that, in solving one major problem, they have created another, much larger one. When the Legends let time crumble in order to release and defeat Mallus, the barrier between worlds softened. So when all hell breaks loose, who ya gonna call? That’s right, the Legends!”
