Lanterns: Aaron Pierre Would Be ‘At Peace’ If DCU Show Doesn’t Get Season 2

Aaron Pierre has given his thoughts on whether Lanterns will get a Season 2 renewal. The DCU series recently premiered on August 16 and has released only one episode so far. However, possible stories for a new season are already being discussed in the writers’ room.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lanterns’ Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler shared whether they are optimistic about the show returning for Season 2. Chandler, who plays Hal Jordan, joked, “I am very optimistic. I gave them my first two versions of scripts one and two, along with a packet of cash.”

Pierre, who plays John Stewart, chuckled at the quip and chimed in, “Honestly, this was such a joy from beginning to end.” Addressing the Lanterns’ potential return, he added, “Whatever happens will happen. Whatever is meant to be will be. Of course, we would love to go again and again. We love this show.”

The actor continued, “All of us poured so much into this that, whatever happens, we are at peace with it because we are just all so very proud of it. The whole team, such as Jeff [Ferrero] in lighting, got so close. It’s a real family, and it was a real family effort.

Pierre concluded, “Kyle and I, along with a number of other amazing artists, are front-facing in regards to this project. But there is a town behind us, and we wouldn’t have been able to achieve this without them, not even close.”

What is the current status of Lanterns Season 2?

Lanterns has not received an official green light for Season 2 yet. The show is currently airing its debut season, which is set to conclude on October 4, 2026, with its eighth episode. However, things are looking hopeful, with recent reports suggesting that writers are already working on the next season.

Lanterns is based on the DC Comics Green Lantern characters, Hal Jordan and John Stewart. The show stars Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, and Nathan Fillion.
