Avengers: Secret Wars has reportedly entered a brief production hiatus. While that may raise concerns among MCU fans, the update does not necessarily indicate trouble behind the scenes.
According to a new Filmbase industry update, Marvel Studios has paused filming for five weeks after production began in the United Kingdom. This may sound concerning so soon after filming began.
However, the information is reportedly based on conversations with crew members, and dates can change on short notice. So there is no reason for fans to assume that the film is facing production problems.

When Avengers: Secret Wars is reportedly expected to resume filming
According to the update, Avengers: Secret Wars is currently on a “five-week hiatus for all crew,” with production expected to “resume at the end of September.” The timing also makes sense considering the Russo brothers have also been working on Avengers: Doomsday.
In a recent interview at the San Diego Comic-Con, the Russo brothers revealed that work on Secret Wars had already begun behind the scenes. Anthony talked about the timeline for Secret Wars filming, saying, “We’re prepping Secret Wars. So, it’s a complicated time in our lives, but thrilling.” When asked when they will begin filming for the sequel, Joe said, “Soon. So soon it makes us sweat a little bit.”
Secret Wars will be the sixth Avengers film and will follow Doomsday, which is scheduled to release later this year on December 18, 2026. The film is expected to be one of Marvel’s biggest projects and will conclude the MCU’s Multiverse Saga.
Directed by the Russo brothers, Avengers: Secret Wars will star Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. Marvel Studios has yet to announce any plot details or cast updates for the film. The last film of The Multiverse Saga is scheduled to hit theatres on December 17, 2027.
