X-Men: Drew Starkey Throws a Curveball Into MCU Casting Rumors

Drew Starkey has recently thrown a curveball about the X-Men rumors. Reflecting on the ongoing speculation, Starkey had a dismissive take on it.

Currently, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is abuzz with the X-Men. With Marvel having already cast several actors, the rumors are growing with each passing day. Recently, there were heavy speculations that the Outer Banks star might be joining the MCU as part of their upcoming X-Men reboot. But if Starkey’s words are to be believed, that is not the case.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Starkey was asked the much-sought-after question. He stated, “I’ve never even heard of it. That world is definitely interesting to me. It’s almost our modern-day Shakespeare in a way. I’m totally open to it.” Surely, while the 32-year-old has left the door open, there is no confirmed news about his MCU casting.

Marvel’s X-Men cast is starting to take shape

Marvel fans have waited for a long time to see their favorite X-Men characters on the big screen. Thankfully, after years, the mutants are now officially a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ahead of the X-Men reboot, the studio has been actively recruiting actors to play the X-Men.

The very first actor to don the role of an X-Men was Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink. Portraying the Omega-level mutant Jean Grey, Sink already made her debut in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Apart from Sink, as revealed during D23, Samara Weaving has been cast as Emma Frost, while Kit Connor will play Cyclops. Recently, Marvel added more members, namely Maya Boyd as Storm, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, and the Obsession star, Inde Navarrette, as Rogue. Additionally, Marvel has also included the likes of Adam Driver, who will be playing Mister Sinister.

Looking at the lineup, it is evident that Marvel is doing away with the previous X-Men cast of Fox. However, there is a big question mark surrounding who would play Wolverine. Marvel hasn’t announced a new name yet, and Hugh Jackman has already reprised his iconic role in Deadpool & Wolverine. Thus, with the X-Men lineup beginning to take shape, MCU fans will eagerly wait to see what’s next.
