The Batman Part II Set Photo Has Tim Burton Fans Freaking Out Over Big Creative Choice

The Batman Part II set photos have Tim Burton fans excited over a prop. Burton previously directed Batman Returns, which opened to a then-record $45.7 million in 1992. A recent prop spotted on set has drawn comparisons to Burton’s Caped Crusader movies

Robert Pattinson‘s The Batman Part II is currently filming in Glasgow, where several vehicles and set pieces, including the Batmobile and Gotham City police cars, have been spotted. However, one prop that stood out was a decorated Christmas tree.

The Christmas tree has drawn comparisons to Burton’s Batman Returns, which was set during the holiday season. In that film, the Penguin attempts to seize control of Gotham City during the Christmas season.

In the 1992 movie, Gotham City is decked out in Christmas decorations and blanketed in snow. Since Gotham is typically portrayed as dark, gloomy, and rain-soaked, a Christmas setting would offer a different atmosphere for the Batman franchise.

What The Batman Part II set photo could mean for the DC movie

The Batman Part II’s Christmas-themed set props have led to speculation that the movie could be set around the holiday season. If confirmed, that would mark a major shift from the first movie’s gloomy, rain-soaked portrayal of Gotham City. The setting could also fuel speculation about how much time has passed since the events of the first movie, although no time jump has been confirmed.

Matt Reeves is returning to direct the sequel, and he previously shared behind-the-scenes images from the production with the caption “#snowtires.” Although the plot remains under wraps, fans have speculated that Batman villain Mr. Freeze could appear in the sequel.

Fans have also drawn comparisons to the video game Batman: Arkham Origins, which is set during Christmas. Production is currently underway, with more updates expected as filming continues.

Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, Jayme Lawson, and Gil Perez-Abraham will reprise their roles in Part II. The movie will also feature new cast members, including Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Charles Dance, Brian Tyree Henry, and Sebastian Koch.

The Batman Part II is slated to hit theaters on February 18, 2028.
