New set videos from The Batman Part II have given fans another glimpse at Matt Reeves’ Gotham City. The upcoming sequel has been filming for weeks, with multiple set photos and videos revealing elements of the movie ahead of time. The DC film will be set in winter, giving fans a fresh perspective on the Dark Knight in his early years.
The latest set videos show the film’s crew unloading vehicles and costumes for an outdoor shoot. The videos show a GCPD SWAT vehicle along with racks of new costumes, teasing the fictional law enforcement agency’s role in the sequel. They highlight the GCPD’s militarized equipment while offering another glimpse at the film’s gritty interpretation of Gotham City. By the end of the first film, Batman begins to earn the trust of certain GCPD members, including Officer Martinez.
The Batman Part II continues to expand Matt Reeves’ vision of Gotham
Previous set photos had already teased Gotham’s transformation following the deadly flood unleashed by the Riddler. The spin-off series, The Penguin, delved into the aftermath of the flood, with the titular villain coming out on top of the city’s organized crime scene. Plot details of the sequel have been kept under wraps, though many fans speculate that it will explore more of the corruption behind Gotham’s justice system. Other set photos have given fans a glimpse of the Batmobile.
The Batman Part II will follow Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne as he interacts with several new characters, including Sebastian Stan’s Harvey Dent. The sequel has also added Scarlett Johansson in an undisclosed role, along with Charles Dance and Brian Tyree Henry. The film was recently delayed again, pushing its release date several months back. The delay prompted speculation that a third film could be shot simultaneously. However, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn later debunked the rumor.
The Batman: Part II is scheduled to release in theaters on February 18, 2028.
