Sophia Di Martino finally appears to have addressed the Latverian Witches theory everyone’s been talking about. The Sylvie actress reacted to one of the most popular fan theories connecting her character to Doctor Doom’s inner circle.

Loki star Sophia Di Martino has added fuel to Avengers: Doomsday casting rumors through her latest Instagram activity. The actress shared a photo on her Instagram captioned “Working on something a bit different.”
A fan account named henrique_correaaa_ then left a comment reading “Latveria Witch?” alongside eyes and orange heart emojis. Di Martino proceeded to like the comment, instantly catching the attention of MCU fans online.
The reaction carries weight because Marvel Studios unveiled Latverian Witch costumes at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. The SDCC display featured three robed figures serving Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom in green, orange, and purple outfits. Fans have since connected the green witch to Di Martino’s Sylvie based on the character’s iconic color scheme.
This is not the first time Di Martino has teased a potential MCU return. She posted a now-deleted Instagram selfie in May 2025 with the cryptic caption “playgrounds.” Reports of her Loki stunt double Sarah Irwin appearing in London further amplified those rumors at the time.
Di Martino has also been vocal about wanting to revisit the role. She told 1883 Magazine in December 2023, “I would love to see Sylvie do anything, I think whatever she does, she’s going to do it with fight and she would probably surprise everyone by doing something that you don’t expect. I’m very fond of that character.”
Tom Hiddleston’s God Loki already has a confirmed spot in the Avengers: Doomsday roster. Other fan theories tie the remaining Latverian Witches to Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch and Charlize Theron’s Clea.
Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026.
