Whispers of one MCU character’s potential appearance in Avengers: Doomsday have surfaced in the fandom. A new rumor suggests that Sylvie from Disney+’s Loki may return in the upcoming installment.
According to a recent X post by insider James Mack, Sylvie Laufeydottir from Disney+ television show Loki may appear in Avengers: Doomsday, but she will not have a major role in the film. The scooper did not provide any additional details.
However, Marvel remains tight-lipped about any plot details of Doomsday. Thus, we have no official confirmation regarding Sylvie’s appearance in the film.
Sylvie’s Loki connection could expand the MCU’s multiverse story
While Tom Hiddleston has been confirmed to reprise his role as Loki in Avengers: Doomsday, Sylvie’s potential appearance remains only a rumor. Fans last saw Sylvie, who is an alternate variant of Loki himself from the multiverse, in Disney+’s Loki series. Sylvie is portrayed by Sophia Di Martino in the show.
Loki’s series finale saw the supervillain destroy the Temporal Loom to save the dying timelines as he sits at the End of Time alone to oversee the branches of the multiverse. This separates him from Sylvie forever. However, rumors of Sylvie’s appearance in Doomsday suggest a new development in the MCU’s multiverse saga. Whether the beloved Loki character makes a comeback remains to be seen.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Doomsday promises an epic ride as it unites all major superhero groups of the MCU. This includes the Avengers, Wakandans, New Avengers, Fantastic Four, and the X-Men. The teams come together to face Victor von Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.
The ensemble cast of Doomsday includes Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, and Vanessa Kirby, to name only a few. The movie arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026. The Russo brothers are also directing the sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, which arrives on December 17, 2027.
