Dawson’s return was a point of speculation among the MCU fans because of her role as the Night Nurse, named Rosario Dawson, in The Defenders Saga like Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, The Defenders, and Luke Cage. Her role would have connected Spider-Man with street-level superheroes, and Dawson’s appearance would have made sense since she is known for providing medical assistance in The Defenders Saga and in Marvel Comics.

The post claims that Peter was supposed to have a short, cute interaction with Claire Temple when he bumps into her in his hospital gown and mask while she was looking at his X-ray.
In an interview with The Wrap, the writers of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, confirmed that Dawson had a cameo in the film. They revealed that the Night Nurse and Spider-Man were supposed to have an interaction when he goes to the hospital after his fight with The Scorpion.
McKenna said, “Rosario Dawson is great. I wasn’t there for those discussions. But it was great. If anything, you have a movie that is two-and-a-half hours long, and it’s almost an embarrassment of riches with so many great characters and so many great scenes.” Sommers added, “The scene they did was a good scene. I think the only reason it’s not in the final cut was just it was probably cut for time because it was very good.”
