House of the Dragon Season 3 will soon arrive in multiple home entertainment formats. Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment announced the release details on August 10.
The complete third season will be available digitally today. The 4K UHD Steelbook, 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD editions will arrive on December 1, 2026. Preorders for the physical editions are now available.
House of the Dragon Season 3 comes packed with exclusive bonus features
Each edition includes all eight episodes from the third season. The collection also contains several hours of bonus material for viewers who want to explore the making of the series.
The release features eight exclusive extended episodes of “The House That Dragons Built.” Each installment focuses on one Season 3 episode and provides behind-the-scenes access to the production.
Viewers can also watch an “Inside the Episode” featurette for every chapter. Additional content includes interviews and discussions with the directors, producers, and cast members.
The third season continues the Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons. In King’s Landing, Aegon II sits on the Iron Throne with support from Alicent, the Green Council, and powerful dragon forces.
At Dragonstone, Queen Rhaenyra and her Black Council prepare for the next stage of the conflict. The season explores the growing tension between both sides as their battle for power continues.
Following its June premiere, the season has reached more than 17 million global viewers. The series remains one of HBO’s top-performing returning shows.
Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, and Tom Glynn-Carney lead the cast. Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, James Norton, Freddie Fox, Gayle Rankin, and Abubakar Salim also appear.
Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, the HBO series takes place 200 years before Game of Thrones. Ryan Condal serves as co-creator, showrunner, and executive producer.
The collection has an approximate running time of eight hours. It includes English audio, English and French subtitles, and a TV-MA rating.
