Bella Thorne and Zendaya walked off a hit Disney TV show’s set in the middle of live taping. The popular actress and director was part of the popular sitcom Shake It Up, alongside the Spider-Man: Brand New Day star, that ran for three seasons.
During her recent interaction with Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Thorne talked about how people involved in the Disney sitcom from the 2010s tried to pit her against Zendaya despite the fact that they both played best friends in the show.
She revealed that they both eventually decided to clear things up with a heartfelt discussion while shooting for a scene. “When we were on our Good Luck Charlie crossover, we escaped to another set in the middle of live taping, which is really ballsy and rebellious.”
Thorne added, “We, like, snuck out. We knew that we had three scenes until we were up again, and we were just like, ‘Let’s just go talk’. And we did. And we escaped to another set that wasn’t being used, on another soundstage, and we were hiding up there while they were looking for us”.
The actress described the conversation with Zendaya as her “first experience, girl-to-girl, where you actually can speak, and you can both be heard about what people are saying and how they are trying to do this to you.”

Bella Thorne and Zendaya were both teenage rising stars when they both joined Shake It Up. After the show first launched in 2010, they witnessed huge popularity, thanks to their on-screen characters of CeCe Jones and Rocky Blue, respectively.
The show followed the two best friends’ journey of fulfilling their dreams to become professional dancers after getting an opportunity to perform for a local TV show. Shake It Up consisted of three seasons before wrapping up with the finale episode in 2013.
Besides Zendaya and Thorne, the sitcom also featured Kenton Duty as Gunther Hessenheffer, Roshon Fegan as Ty Blue, Adam Irigoyen as Deuce Martinez, and Davis Cleveland as Flynn Jones, among others.
As for their recent works, Bella Thorne was seen in the thriller movie Find Your Friends, directed by Izabel Pakzad. It arrived on the Shudder platform last month.
Zendaya was recently featured in Spider-Man: Brand New Day alongside her husband and co-star Tom Holland. Before the superhero movie, she was also seen in Christopher Nolan’s epic adventure The Odyssey.
