Vin Diesel, known for voicing Groot in the MCU, has teased a spin-off Guardians of the Galaxy movie. The actor is best known for his Fast & Furious franchise, but his voice-over of the iconic tree creature has also won over many fans in the last decade.
For a long time, Diesel has teased a Groot spin-off movie based on the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. However, the studios have yet to announce or confirm anything on it. But it appears the actor is not willing to let go of the idea anytime soon.
What else is happening with Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise?
Vin Diesel recently shared an artwork featuring Groot on his Instagram handle. He wrote, “Unstoppable…” while using hashtags The Arbor King and Alpha Groot to tease that a spin-off Groot movie might be in the works at Marvel.
While it’s not confirmed, the potential title of the movie is The Arbor King. The 59-year-old left a lot to fans’ interpretations rather than giving more details or clarification.
While Diesel is still pursuing the idea of a Groot movie in the MCU, nothing has been confirmed so far.
Earlier this month, he had shared another Instagram post while teasing a Groot spin-off movie. His post read, “Several works in progress. Riddick. Kaulder with Sir Michael. Rock ’em Sock ’em… went personal on this one, but Mattel loves it. Theo, my homage to New York, the city that made me. The Arbor King. Some say Groot is Disney’s most valuable asset.”
Interestingly, Groot has had his moment in the MCU, but with a TV series. Back in 2022, Marvel Studios launched Season 1 of the I Am Groot animated TV show on Disney+.
The comedy series was well-received by critics as well as viewers. Currently, it holds a stellar Tomatometer score of 89% and a solid Popcornmeter score of 74% on Rotten Tomatoes. A second season was also released the following year.
