These Spider-Man: Brand New Day Villains Could Get Their Own MCU Project — Rumor

A bunch of Spider-Man: Brand New Day villains might get a Marvel project of their own. It has been heard through the grapevine that a criminal outfit making its broader Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the upcoming superhero flick will soon get a stand-alone project.

The Hand could spin out of Spider-Man: Brand New Day into a standalone MCU project

If unconfirmed Marvel expansion rumors from scooper MyTimeToShineHello are to be true, The Hand will receive an MCU project of its own following the outfit’s big-screen debut later this month. Last seen almost a decade ago in The Defenders, the ancient ninja cult has previously appeared in the 2005 film Elektra and throughout the Netflix Marvel series Daredevil, Iron Fist, and The Defenders.

While they have not been part of the main MCU film canon previously, The Hand’s inclusion signals a major tonal shift toward darker, street-level storytelling, potentially setting up a crossover with Daredevil. Spider-Man: Brand New Day also marks the first time that the criminal organization has appeared in a Spider-Man film. That said, Marvel has yet to confirm anything related to the rumored project on The Hand.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the official synopsis of the film reads, “Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.”

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is slated to be released in theaters on July 31, 2026.
