With no trailer yet in sight for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, fans have had to rely on scoopers to get their fill of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. The latest Brand New Day update has now arrived, shedding new light on the action scenes and villains of the MCU sequel.
Alex Perez of the Cosmic Circus recently responded to some questions on X from Marvel fans, with the focus specifically on Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s action scenes.
When asked whether fans could expect scenes like Kingpin vs. Spider-Man in the Insomniac Spider-Man game, Perez responded, “No Fisk but Tombstone is hella one-sided.” This suggests that Spidey will have a hard time beating the crime boss in a 1v1 match-up.
With Brand New Day reportedly set four years after the last movie, 2021’s No Way Home, Perez confirmed that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will have a “fairly established rogues gallery” now.
This isn’t too surprising. Previous reports have claimed that Brand New Day will open with a fast-paced montage featuring Spidey battling several minor villains like Boomerang and Tarantula. Rhino, the Jackal, and 8-Ball were also part of a Spider-Man: Brand New Day cast list that leaked online last month.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s action scenes compared to Shang-Chi and Daredevil
However, the juiciest new detail shared by Perez was that Brand New Day’s action scenes will be comparable to those from 2021’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, specifically the bus and skyscraper fights.
The insider also claimed that Brand New Day will have action sequences that rival the iconic hallway fight from the Netflix Daredevil series and the Cap chasing Black Panther chasing Bucky scene from Captain America: Civil War.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks Holland’s seventh appearance in the MCU as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Destin Daniel Cretton directed the superhero movie. Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers wrote the screenplay.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU.
