Robert Downey Jr. shared Doctor Doom themed photos for Valentine’s Day on Instagram, captioning the post, “Happy VVDay.” The upload appeared one day ago and received more than 481,000 likes and over 2,000 comments. Users replied with messages including “Robert Downey Jr will return in Avengers: Doomsday.”
On his account, Downey presented a humorous look at Victor von Doom through holiday themed images. One picture showed chocolates shaped like the mask, with the word Valentine’s crossed out so the message read “Happy Doomsday.” Another image depicted the villain holding a bouquet of flowers, six of which resembled him.
In a third image the character served Doom a peanut cluster in a reference to Iron Man. The final photo showed a heart shaped cupid tattoo reading “Suzie,” a nod to Sue Storm. The post followed earlier seasonal updates shared by the actor.
During Super Bowl Sunday, he uploaded a picture with Susan Downey wearing green Doomsday jerseys. At Christmas, he shared artwork captioned “Silver & Gold” featuring the masks of Doom and Iron Man.
