Sadie Sink’s Take on Eleven’s Fate Could Shock Stranger Things Fans

Stranger Things star Sadie Sink recently shared her thoughts on Eleven‘s ambiguous fate on the show. At the end of Season 5, Millie Bobby Brown‘s character seemingly perished by making the ultimate sacrifice: choosing to stay at the crumbling Upside Down to protect her friends and to prevent the government from using her powers to restart the program that created Vecna.

However, Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard) expressed his belief that Eleven faked her demise with Kali’s help to escape the government and live out her life in peace. This belief was seemingly supported by one of the show’s final scenes, depicting Eleven at a picturesque location with waterfalls.

Sadie Sink really believes Eleven dies in Stranger Things Season 5

On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Sadie Sink was asked if she thinks Eleven was alive at the end of Stranger Things Season 5. She momentarily smiled and looked around nervously before replying, “I think she’s dead. I don’t know.”

Fallon asked her if she was certain, and she replied that she was. The Whale actress then wondered if what she said was a “hot take,” which Fallon confirmed, adding that he also believed Eleven dies.

“I think, like, Mike’s story is like just one last story,” Sink continued. “And that’s like…then they say goodbye to their childhood. But that’s just one final tale, and that’s it.” Fallon said he liked Sink’s take on the matter, while she said it was “a coping thing.”

Sink believed that her take on Eleven’s fate made its emotional impact “stronger.” Fallon said that Eleven’s fate was open to interpretation, to which Sink replied that what she said was her interpretation.

All episodes of Stranger Things Season 5 are currently streaming on Netflix. In addition to having co-created the series, the Duffer Brothers also serve as executive producers alongside Shawn Levy, Iain Paterson, and Curtis Gwinn.

Besides Sink, Brown, and Wolfhard, Stranger Things also stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, and Caleb McLaughlin, among others.
