The Witcher Season 4 gets individual cast posters
Netflix has unveiled a new collection of character posters for The Witcher Season 4.
The highlight of the reveal is Liam Hemsworth, who has taken over the role of Geralt of Rivia. This follows Henry Cavill’s exit after three seasons. Alongside Hemsworth, the newly released portrait posters feature Freya Allan as Princess Cirilla of Cintra, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Laurence Fishburne as Regis, and Joey Batey as Jaskier. Each poster presents a close-up of the characters with fire next to their faces.
Season 4 will continue the epic fantasy saga, where Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri are separated by the chaos of war. They are forced to navigate their own paths amid political and magical upheaval. The upcoming season is scheduled to premiere globally on Netflix on October 30.
Speaking to IGN, showrunner Lauren Hissrich addressed the casting change. She said, “When we were looking at who potentially could fill the shoes of Geralt, there is a physicality that has to be present.” She emphasized the importance of finding someone who can portray both Geralt’s physical strength with his emotional side.
Talking about Hemsworth’s work, the showrunner said, “What I really loved about Liam’s work that I had seen is that he was able to organically blend those two things. He didn’t have physical scenes and then emotional scenes.”
According to Hissrich, Hemsworth brings a “soul” to the character that can be seen even during action sequences. She added, “And it’s the same thing that’s present when he’s having conversations with Ciri or with Yennefer, that was a really special thing that we were able to capture.”
