Absolute Batman #13 has revealed a fan-favorite character to be the leader of the outlaw collective, the Red Hood gang. In contrast to the character’s iconic look from the mainline DC universe, they have a completely new look in the Absolute Universe and bring a new twist to the Red Hood gang.
Absolute Batman #13 introduces Harley Quinn with a twist
In a shocking twist, in Absolute Batman #13, the Clown Princess of Crime, Harley Quinn, is revealed to be the leader of the Red Hood gang. The gang is often associated more with Jason Todd, who takes up the mantle of the Red Hood, and also the Joker.
Departing from her signature look, this version of Harley sports a shaved head, diamond tattoos around her eyes and hands, and a checkered tattoo running down her neck. In contrast to her usually unconventional and eye-catching fashion choices in other representations, Absolute Harley has a casual look. She wears short pants paired with what seems to be a white shirt and a black vest. Furthermore, she also wears an oversized red hoodie, red sneakers, and checkered socks. Her weapon of choice in her appearance is a pair of nunchucks.
The revelation comes when Batman and Selina get into a fight with members of the Red Hood Gang, and suddenly, the Bane Venom inside Batman’s body activates. Batman manages to calm things down by revealing his plan. He explains his plans to destroy Bane, Ark M, and his words seem to capture the leader’s attention, leading to Harley’s reveal. While Harley seems to be commanding the Red Hood, it’s important to note that Jason Todd and other Robins are expected to appear later in the series.
