Moon Knight Season 2 has received yet another disappointing update, raising fresh doubts about the show’s future. Recent comments reveal that little is currently known about whether the series will move forward.

ScreenRant spoke with Moon Knight composer Hesham Nazih about the show’s future.

When asked about Season 2, Nazih responded, “That’s the million-dollar question. No one knows. Not even Mohamed Diab. No one ever talked about this. No one knows. If you ask anyone, which I did, I only get, ‘No one knows.’” His comments confirmed that even the crew has no information, indicating development has not begun.

Created by Jeremy Slater and directed by Mohamed Diab, Moon Knight premiered on Disney+ in 2022. It features Oscar Isaac as Marc Spector and Steven Grant, characters with dissociative identity disorder and a connection to the Egyptian god Khonshu. The series earned a solid 88% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, yet Marvel Studios has not announced a sophomore season.

Kevin Feige previously told Entertainment Weekly that there is “a future for that character,” but provided no timeline or details.

At San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Isaac addressed a fan’s question about a second season, saying, “We’ll see, maybe one day. Or in the movie we’ll see him.” His remarks suggested the character could reappear in another Marvel project, though no confirmation exists.

Meanwhile, series creator Jeremy Slater noted in July 2025 that he likely would not return if Season 2 happened. “I have no idea. If we do, I probably would not be involved,” he said, explaining that he is focusing on directing films and has not been in contact with Marvel for a few years.

Marvel’s shift toward prioritizing quality has left several projects without follow-ups. Hawkeye has not received a second season, and even though a Shang-Chi sequel is in development, it has not been released. Three years after Moon Knight’s debut, its continuation remains uncertain.
