Street Fighter Report: Walton Goggins & More Could Join Jason Momoa in Cast

As per a new report, Walton Goggins could portray an important character in Legendary’s live-action Street Fighter movie. Eric André and Orville Peck are also reportedly in consideration for separate roles in the film. In May, it was reported that Jason Momoa and Roman Reigns were circling the project alongside Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo.

Walton Goggins could play M. Bison in the live-action Street Fighter movie

Industry scooper and journalist Jeff Sneider claimed in his newsletter that Walton Goggins was in talks to join the cast of Street Fighter as M. Bison, the primary antagonist of the feature. Notably, late Raúl Juliá essayed the role of General M. Bison in the 1994 adaptation of the namesake video game series from Capcom. Sneider and his Hot Mic co-host John Rocha discussed the newsletter in a new episode of the podcast.

When asked how he felt about this development, Sneider admitted that he was “a little surprised,” because he was under the impression that Goggins “was having a moment and was flying pretty high right now.” He added, “I thought he might land something a little bit more prestigious, but at the same time, it’s also maybe time to get a nice movie paycheck.”

As Sneider indicated, Goggins has become a prolific TV actor in recent years. He portrayed Baby Billy Freeman in HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones, the Ghoul / Cooper Howard in Prime Video’s Fallout, and Rick Ha tchett in HBO’s The While Lotus. He also voices Cecil Stedman in Prime Video’s Invincible.

Eric André and Orville Peck could be the announcer and Vega in Street Fighter

Sneider also speculated that Eric André and Orville Peck were being eyed for the roles of the ring announcer and Vega, respectively, in Street Fighter. Notably, in the 1994 film, Jay Tavare played Vega.

In the games, Vega is a masked fighter from Spain who has mixed Japanese ninjutsu with bullfighting to create his own fighting style. André has previously worked with the movie’s director Kitao Sakurai in 2021’s Bad Trip. Meanwhile, Peck is predominantly a musician who uses a mask during public appearances.
