An industry scooper has claimed that Avengers: Doomsday could potentially feature at least two Black Panthers. Notably, Letitia Wright, who portrayed Shuri / Black Panther in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, has already been confirmed for the Doomsday cast. The prospective appearance of more versions of the superhero might mean that another individual will take up the mantle.
New T’Challa could appear, Avengers: Doomsday said to have multiple Black Panthers
Hollywood scooper @MyTimeToShineH took to X (formerly Twitter) to claim that the upcoming MCU film Avengers: Doomsday will feature multiple Black Panthers. They shared, “There will be a second Black Panther in Avengers Doomsday.”
As mentioned above, Letitia Wright’s Shuri will appear in the movie. Shuri took on the role of Black Panther in Wakanda Forever. In the same movie, T’Challa and Nakia’s son, also named T’Challa or Toussaint, portrayed by Divine Love Konadu-Sun, was introduced. Depending on Doomsday’s place within the MCU timeline, an older version of T’Challa II could be the second Black Panther in the movie, with a new actor playing the role.
Alternatively, a new actor can also be cast as a variant of the original T’Challa / Black Panther. The movie is part of the MCU’s Multiverse Saga, after all. Another possibility is that Michael B. Jordan might return as a variant of Erik Killmonger, who has successfully become the protector of Wakanda. Doomsday already has a big cast, but Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has indicated that more cast members will be announced in the future. In recent months, there have been some rumors about Jordan’s return in Doomsday.
Chadwick Boseman portrayed T’Challa / Black Panther until his passing in August 2020 due to complications related to colon cancer. Marvel Studios decided against recasting the character. Instead, the opening of Wakanda Forever depicts that T’Challa passed away due to a terminal illness.
Avengers: Doomsday premieres in U.S. theaters on December 18, 2026.
