Adam, Vanessa’s love interest, receives a brutal end in Daredevil: Born Again‘s latest episode, “Isle for Joy.” As viewers know, Vanessa had an affair with Adam in Wilson Fisk’s absence, which created a strain in their marriage. However, Fisk eventually learns about her cheating, but assures her that he will not harm Adam at all. In a surprising turn of events, Vanessa does the unthinkable, eradicating her boyfriend entirely from coming between her and Fisk’s relationship.
Why did Vanessa kill Adam in Daredevil: Born Again?
Vanessa killed Adam as a way of proving her love and loyalty to Wilson Fisk.
Fisk has showcased his vulnerability to her by conveying that he cannot stand her boyfriend, Adam. He also hates to hear any of their romantic moments, which was evident from his reaction during their marriage therapy.
To avoid Adam from getting in the way of their marriage, Vanessa murders him. With this, she proved to Fisk that no one can come between their love and that only they are meant for one another.
Wilson Fisk hated Adam for being with Vanessa in the past. He kidnapped him and held him hostage inside the cage. In a past episode, a rage-filled Fisk visits the cage and brutally beats him up.
He also hands Adam an axe to fight back as his way of making them equal in their bout. Nevertheless, Fisk, like always, got the upper hand in the fight. But, he eventually held back from killing him and spared his life due to his promise to Vanessa.
In the latest episode, Fisk takes Vanessa to see Adam in his cage. She knows that he is the person ultimately coming between their marriage. So, she takes matters into her own hands and kills Adam in front of Fisk. Her violent action was a gesture to make her relationship with Fisk better and to strengthen their connection.
