Gabriel Luna is willing and ready to rejoin the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially if it means reuniting with his The Last of Us co-star Pedro Pascal.
The actor was recently at South by Southwest 2025 for the premiere of his sci-fi horror movie, The Astronaut, which also stars Kate Mara and Laurence Fishburne. During a chat with Screen Rant, Luna was asked to comment on his potential MCU return as Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider, specifically if he’d be more open to coming back if it meant having the chance to work with Pascal again. “Oh hell yeah,” Luna replied. Pascal is set to make his MCU debut in the upcoming The Fantastic Four: First Steps as Mister Fantastic.
When did Gabriel Luna last play Ghost Rider in the MCU?
Luna portrayed the Robbie Reyes version of Ghost Rider, who was introduced in the comics in 2014 as part of the Marvel NOW! initiative, across 10 episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s fourth season. Johnny Blaze also made a silent cameo in one of the episodes, during a flashback explaining how Reyes became the MCU’s Ghost Rider.
While Luna never reprised the role on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. during the ABC show’s final three seasons, there were plans at one point for a Ghost Rider spin-off series on Hulu. However, the project was ultimately scrapped due to a “creative impasse.”

At the time of writing, Marvel Studios has not officially announced any plans for Ghost Rider in the MCU. However, popular internet scooper @ApocHorseman claimed earlier this year that the Marvel superhero may debut in Avengers: Doomsday, although it wasn’t revealed which version the studio was eyeing to bring to the big screen. Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum previously stated that he “would wanna do the Danny Ketch era of Ghost Rider.”
