Rick and Morty Season 4 Scene Teases Rough Times Ahead

The creators of Rick and Morty have promised some big changes for the fourth season of the animated series. And based on the first clip that’s made its way online, things are shaking up for the duo and their family.

In the new footage, which was originally posted on Twitter, Morty and Jerry have launched some kind of app. But when they attempt to take it down with the help of an alien intern, things get a little hostile. Fans can check it out in full below, complete with an “ominous beeping noise.” (Boy, do we need that app…)

So far, reactions to the clip have been strongly positive, with many fans noting that they can’t wait for the new season to premiere in just a few months. Series creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon have been working hard to ensure that the fourth season will be the best one yet. That said, they have advised fans to catch up on past episodes, as it will have a more linear approach.

“Without giving anything away, we have serialized stuff we check in on now and then that’s sprinkled over the top of strong episodic episodes,” Roiland told Entertainment Weekly. “To fans of the show, they’re going to want to watch them in order…I would definitely say watch all of Season 3 before Season 4.”

This season will offer some big-name guest-stars, including Kathleen Turner, Sam Neill, and Paul Giamatti. Taika Waititi is also in the cast, and it sounds like he’s voicing the alien in the clip above. Additionally, Roiland assured fans that they won’t have to wait long for a fifth season.

“We’re literally writing season 5 while finishing season 4 just to force ourselves to commit to a certain schedule,” Roiland confirmed.

Rick and Morty’s fourth season will debut this November. What are you hoping to see from the latest go-around? Let us know in the comments below!
