Watch Batwoman Star Ruby Rose’s SDCC Absence Apology

Sad news for Batwoman fans, as Ruby Rose won’t be able to participate at San Diego Comic-Con. Rose should have appeared on the Batwoman panel on Saturday, July 20 at 10:30 a.m., but in a video posted to Instagram, she let the fans know her disappointment for ditching SDCC. The actress explained her absence due to her schedule, which sees her busy filming an “ambitious episode.”

“I will, unfortunately, not be able to make it to Comic-Con this year, and it is devastating,” Rose said. “I have wanted to go to Comic-Con for a million years, and never did I think I would be invited as a guest and to be speaking on incredible panels. But I’m not going to be there, which stinks a lot. But just know that we tried everything that we could humanly to be there. It wasn’t until really now that we realized there really wasn’t any other way to finish this episode, this ambitious episode that we’re doing, and create this amazing show that’s really special.”

Additionally, Rose should have taken part in the “Entertainment Weekly: Women Who Kick Ass” panel on Saturday.

“We want you to love it and be proud of it, and be entertained and to laugh and to cry and to be empowered,” she added. “And that means that in this particular instance, I got to work and bring Kate Kane, Batwoman to the screen.”

The Batwoman panel will include a screening of the series pilot. Then, there will b a Q&A session with the cast and executive producers of the show.
