Garret Dillahunt Cast in FOX’s X-Men Series The Gifted

According to Deadline, Marvel Entertainment and FOX have cast Garret Dillahunt (The Mindy Project, Looper) as a series regular in their X-Men show The Gifted. He will play a mutant researcher named Roderick Campbell, who is contracted by the Sentinel Services for a dubious mission. Dillahunt will next be seen opposite Frank Grillo in the Netflix movie Wheelman on October 20.

The Gifted has already been picked up for a first season and will air on FOX this fall with the pilot episode directed by four-time X-Men film director Bryan SingerThe Gifted stars Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker, Percy Hynes White, Sean Teale, Blair Redford, with Jamie Chung as the mutant Blink, and Natalie Alyn Lind as the mutant Polaris.

Produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Marvel TelevisionThe Gifted will focus on two ordinary parents (Moyer and Acker) who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.

Written by Matt Nix (APBBurn Notice), directed by Bryan Singer (the X-Men franchise”) and executive produced by Nix, Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men: ApocalypseX-Men: Days of Future PastThe Wolverine), Simon Kinberg (X-Men: ApocalypseX-Men: Days of Future Past), Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s DaredevilMarvel’s Jessica Jones) and Jim Chory (Marvel’s DaredevilMarvel’s Jessica Jones).

The Gifted premieres on Monday, October 2 on FOX.
