Josh Brolin preps his guns for Deadpool 2’s Cable
Josh Brolin is already filming his dismantling of The Avengers as Thanos in Marvel Studios’ Infinity War, but the actor is set to take on another beloved comic book icon in the role of Cable in Deadpool 2. Brolin took to Instagram to show off his workout regiment as he preps for the role and his arms appear to be sculpted by Rob Liefeld himself.
“Just saw Dave Bautista at the gym and he said: “What the f*ck happened to you?!” Haha. Best compliment ever,” Brolin wrote with his video. Check it out below!
The time-traveling son of the X-Men’s Cyclops, Brolin’s Cable will appear alongside Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth and newcomer Zazie Beetz (Atlanta) as Domino, a luck-manipulating mutant. Jack Kesy (The Strain, Baywatch) is also attached to play the film’s central villain which, while unconfirmed, is rumored to be Irish mutant Black Tom Cassidy. Shioli Kutsuna was also recently cast in an undisclosed role. Other stars returning from the first Deadpool include Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Stefan Kapicic as the voice of Colossus.
John Wick‘s David Leitch is directing Deadpool 2 from a screenplay by the returning Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Reynolds is again serving as a producer on Deadpool 2 alongside X-Men franchise caretakers Simon Kinberg and Lauren Shuler Donner.
The Deadpool sequel hits theaters on June 1, 2018.
