Captain America: Civil War Deleted Scene and Winter Soldier Featurette

Ahead of the film’s home media release this September, Marvel Studios has released a Captain America: Civil War deleted scene along with a Winter Soldier featurette, both of which you can check out below.

The Civil War deleted scene features Bucky Barnes giving his friend’s shield a throw and teases the character’s time as the Sentinel of Liberty in the comics, however it wasn’t cut due to the comic book connection but simply timing.

“The airport sequence was obviously complicated,” Joe Russo told EW“We wanted to track everybody’s arc and we felt like it was a hair too long, and that beat was coming at a spot when the energy was dropping…We actually made that up on set. It was not scripted…It’s actually one of my favorite beats in that whole sequence, but it’s just a function of storytelling and editing, and wasn’t something we needed to tell the story, but it’s a great bit for the DVD.”

Captain America: Civil War will officially be arriving on Digital HD, Digital 3D and Disney Movies Anywhere on Sept. 2 and on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD and On-Demand on Sept. 13. You can pre-order your copy by clicking here!

The most explosive clash to ever rock the Marvel Cinematic Universe ignites a firestorm of conflict in the game-changing epic, Captain America: Civil War. In the wake of collateral damage, government pressure to rein in the Avengers drives a deep wedge between Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), causing a catastrophic rift that escalates into an all-out feud.

Rogers and Stark are joined by a star-studded lineup of beloved Marvel Super Heroes, including Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Sam Wilson aka Falcon (Anthony Mackie) Colonel James “Rhodey” Rhodes aka War Machine (Don Cheadle), Clint Barton aka Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Vision (Paul Bettany) and Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), along with new recruit Scott Lang aka Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and joined by two new additions to the MCU: T’Challa aka Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and Peter Parker aka Spider-Man (Tom Holland).

Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War is directed by Emmy Award-winning directors Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely. Kevin Feige is the producer of the film, with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Patricia Whitcher, Nate Moore and Stan Lee serving as executive producers.
