The first promo for The Flash Season 3 has been released online and offers a look at some new footage from the series. Check it out below!
In additional Flash news, TVLine reports that former The Vampire Diaries star Todd Lasance has been cast in the role of “The Rival.” In DC Comics lore, The Rival was the enemy of The Flash of Earth-2, Jay Garrick. It’s possible that this speedster went into hiding once Zoom began picking off other speedsters in Season 2 and will only now emerge. The character also wore a very similar outfit to Jay Garrick in the source material, which will probably lead to a confusing moment for Barry in the series.
Blinded by anger, Barry unwittingly plays into Zoom’s game and uncovers the evil speedster’s true goal: to destroy all Earths in the multiverse. In the race of his life, Barry ultimately gets the upper hand against Zoom and defeats his nemesis. But unable to celebrate victory, Barry makes a world-shaking decision and speeds back in time to the night his mother died to stop Reverse Flash from killing her, irrevocably changing his past and redetermining his future.
The Flash stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, Candice Patton as Iris West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramo, Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells and Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West. Season 2 of the series also introduced Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West and the Earth-2 version of The Flash as played by John Wesley Shipp (who also played Barry’s father, Henry Allen). The Flash Season 3 premiere is already set to debut on The CW on Tuesday, October 4 at 8 PM ET.
