Two-Part Gorilla City Episode Coming to The Flash this Season

Amidst all of the updates for The CW’s DC Comics shows announced yesterday, another exciting piece of info has made its way online: Gorilla Grodd is coming back to The Flash, and he’s bringing a whole city with him. Speaking with Collider, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg offered a brief tease:

“Yes, we’re going to be doing a two-part episode that takes place in Gorilla City.”

You will recall that in Season 2 of The Flash, Gorilla Grodd was thrust into Earth-2 where the first tease of Gorilla City was offered; however, since Barry’s decision in the season finale has lead to the creation of the Flashpoint universe, what if we see Gorilla City on Earth-1 instead? Gorilla Grodd actually had his own one-shot story during the Flashpoint comic line, Flashpoint: Grodd of War, where he has taken over not only the ape-inhabited city but the entire continent of Africa. Might we be seeing the Flashpoint version of the character appear? Or will the characters return to Earth-2? It all remains to be seen, but sound off with your thoughts in the comments!

Blinded by anger, Barry unwittingly plays into Zoom’s game and uncovers the evil speedster’s true goal: to destroy all Earths in the multiverse. In the race of his life, Barry ultimately gets the upper hand against Zoom and defeats his nemesis. But unable to celebrate victory, Barry makes a world-shaking decision and speeds back in time to the night his mother died to stop Reverse Flash from killing her, irrevocably changing his past and redetermining his future.

The Flash stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, Candice Patton as Iris West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramo, Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells and Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West. Season 2 of the series also introduced Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West and the Earth-2 version of The Flash as played by John Wesley Shipp (who also played Barry’s father, Henry Allen). The Flash Season 3 premiere is already set to debut on The CW on Tuesday, October 4 at 8 PM ET.
