Arrow Season 5 Premiere Begins Production, Diggle Getting a Helmet Upgrade

Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim has taken to Twitter to reveal that Arrow Season 5 has officially begun production today and that the Season 5 premiere will be titled “Legacy.”

In related Arrow news, David Ramsey revealed at the Heroes & Villains Fan Fest (via People’s Choice) that the previously-promised upgrade for Diggle’s helmet will be arriving in Season 5.

“Season 5, you will see a Cisco-created new mask for Diggle,” he told a panel of fans at the event.

Series star Stephen Amell also confirmed at the Heroes & Villains FanFest this weekend that his wrestling rival Cody Rhodes (aka Stardust) will be making a guest appearance on an episode of Arrow in the new season. You can read all about that by clicking here.

The guest stars for Arrow Season 5 continues to grow and currently includes Rick Gonzalez (Rush, Mr. Robot) as Wild Dog, Josh Segarra as Vigilante, Madison McLaughli as Evelyn Sharp, The Walking Dead star Chad L. Coleman in the villain role of Tobias Church, and the previously-seen Black Canary impersonator Evelyn Sharp as the vigilante Artemis. 

Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, John Barrowman as Malcom Merlyn, with Paul Blackthorne as Detective Lance. The series is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg and Sarah Schechter.
