Martian Manhunter Discovers Bizarro in New Supergirl Clip

Bizarro debuts in new Supergirl clip

CBS has released a new clip from next week’s episode of Supergirl, which you can check out in the player below, featuring J’onn J’onzz disguising himself as Maxwell Lord and discovering a mysterious young woman, who will turn out to be none other than a Bizarro version of the title heroine! Hope Lauren will play Bizarro Girl in the series and will even have an entire episode to herself on February 1 in which Cat Grant will coin her name.

“Cat coins her Bizarro, which is very appropriate,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg tells EW. “As she says, I can name Supergirl, I can name her enemies. The biggest thing about it that was a surprise for us as we constructed the character and the arc was how sad Bizzaro is. In a way, we sort of think about her like Frankenstein[’s monster]. She’s a monster, but she has a pure child’s heart. Ironically, in the episode, while everyone else is saying, ‘We have to figure out a way to destroy her,’ Kara is the only one saying, ‘No, no, no, we have to save her.’ That makes the episode so emblematic of what’s so special about Kara. She’s looking to save everybody, even if they’re the bad guy.”

Lauren will make her debut as the character in episode 10. Titled “Childish Things,” the episode is officially described as follows:

“Kara does her best to support Winn when his father, the supervillain Toyman, breaks out of prison and seeks out his son for unknown reasons.  Also, Cat offers Lucy a job at CatCo and Alex asks Hank to use his powers to help uncover Maxwell Lord’s plans.”

Melissa Benoist leads the cast of Supergirl season one as the title character with a cast that also includes Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Chyler Leigh as Alexandra “Alex” Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow “Winn” Schott, Jenna Dewan Tatum as Lucy Lane (sister of Lois), David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord, with Dean Cain and Helen Slater.

“Childish Things” is set to air on Monday, January 18 at 8 PM ET on CBS. If you missed an episode of Supergirl, or just need a refresher, be sure to check out our weekly recaps by clicking here.
