First Lucy Lane Photo from Supergirl, General Sam Lane Teased

CBS has revealed the first Lucy Lane photo from Supergirl

CBS has revealed (via EW) the first official image of actress Jenna Dewan Tatum as Lucy Lane, the little sister of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Lois Lane, from their upcoming TV series Supergirl. Check out the Lucy Lane photo below!

“We hope to explore the history that Lucy has with James Olsen — or, as Lucy knows him, Jimmy Olsen,” executive producer Ali Adler tells the magazine. “I think we’re going to bring in her father. She not only plays a romantic foil with whatever Kara and James are brewing, but people will also be surprised that she’s really a woman’s woman. She and Kara develop their own friendship, too. We’re not just bringing her in to purposefully create tension. She serves a larger story drive.”

Lane’s father, of course, is none other than General Sam Lane, a tough-as-nails soldier with a distaste for Superman. The character was also head of “Project 7734,” a defense program that would protect Earth from extraterrestrials which transformed Lucy into Superwoman.

Melissa Benoist leads the cast of Supergirl as the title character with a cast that also includes Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Chyler Leigh as Alexandra “Alex” Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow “Winn” Schott, Jenna Dewan Tatum as Lucy Lane (sister of Lois), David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord, and, in mystery roles, Dean Cain and Helen Slater.

Supergirl will premiere Monday, October 26 at a special time (8:30-9:30pm) before it moves to its regular time slot on Monday, November 2 from 8:00-9:00pm.
