Marvel Confirms Markus and McFeely Will Pen Avengers: Infinity War

As previously reported, Marvel Studios has officially confirmed that Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely will write the upcoming two-part Avengers: Infinity War.

“Chris and Steve have been an integral part of the Marvel family since the early days of Phase 1, and their work speaks for itself,” said Producer Kevin Feige. “We couldn’t be more excited to have them with us to help guide the Avengers through their biggest story yet.”

This news also comes after this morning’s reveal that “Infinity War” will be filmed entirely with IMAX cameras, the first Hollywood feature film to do so.

“It’s Thanos against everyone,” star Josh Brolin told us about the “Phase Three” capper late last year, which is believed to involve the Mad Titan’s quest to bring together the six Infinity Stones we’ve seen appear throughout the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn also chimed in previously on the idea of the Guardians meeting the Avengers saying: “When I’m asked about the Guardians and their future, and whether they’ll meet up with the Avengers I really don’t have all that much to say, because some of it isn’t decided yet, and I don’t want to give away what is decided.”

Prior to “Infinity War,” Markus and McFeely will pen Captain America: Civil War, which is currently filming in Atlanta, Georgia with the film targeting a May 6, 2016 release. The pair have also been responsible for Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Thor: The Dark World, and “Marvel’s Agent Carter.”

Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 is slated for release in IMAX theaters on May 4, 2018; Part 2 will open on May 3, 2019.
