Jennifer Lawrence Talks Mystique’s Arc in X-Men: Days of Future Past

At the end of 2011’s X-Men: First Class, Charles Xavier felt betrayed as his dear friend Mystique had taken off with Magneto and his brotherhood. Jennifer Lawrence will reprise her role as the blue shapeshifter in the film’s sequel, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and recently spoke about where her character finds herself in the film.

“I’m naked, but when I do get to wear clothes, I love the ’70s outfits. Some of the Mystique look is a little different, but we’re still using the same paint. But she’s different in this film too,” she told SciFiNow. “She was struggling – like a lot of normal humans – with the way she looked, and she was covered up a lot in the first movie, but this time she is Mutant and proud.”

Coming to theaters on May 23, 2014, X-Men: Days of Future Past is directed by Bryan Singer and also stars Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Halle Berry, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, Boo Boo Stewart, Adan Canto, Evan Peters, Josh Helman and Lucas Till.
