When Disney bought Marvel the talks and wishful thinking of a Marvel theme park began immediately. Well, we have some good news and bad news. Fans will be glad to hear that Disney is moving forward with plans to bring a whole Marvel area to Disneyland, the bad news it’s Hong Kong Disneyland.
According to a speech by Hong Kong Financial Secretary John Tsang (via Inside the Magic) about the 2013-2014 budget for the park, he mentioned that “In the coming few years, Hong Kong Disneyland will launch a new night-time parade and put in place a themed area featuring “Marvel heroes,” the first of its kind in the world.”
We’re going to assume he hasn’t heard of Universal Studios’ “Islands of Adventure” in Orlando or the upcoming Marvel Adventure in Dubai. No word on when these plans will go into effect, but it’s not too early to start shopping for plane tickets to Hong Kong right?
