Six Flags Launches Green Lantern: Stand Up to Your Fear

Following this morning’s news of Universal Orlando’s updated Spider-Man attraction, comes word of a theme park ride from the Distinguished Competition. “Green Lantern: Stand Up to Your Fear” launched this morning at Six Flags in Jackson, New Jersey and the first video of the ride is viewable in the player below.
Timed to tie-in with the upcoming Green Lantern feature film, details of the new ride are as follows:
Standing 15 stories tall and reaching speeds of 63 mph, GREEN LANTERN ranks among the tallest and fastest roller coasters of its kind anywhere in the world. Members of the media, roller coaster enthusiasts and families from Children’s Miracle Network were on-hand for the launch of this epic thrill ride, which features more than three-quarters of a mile of twisting, green steel. GREEN LANTERN is open exclusively to season pass holders now through May 22 and opens to the general public May 25.
Unlike traditional seated coasters, GREEN LANTERN allows passengers to stand throughout the entire course of the ride. The two-minute and thirty-second thrill begins with a nerve-wracking climb 153 feet toward the sky, followed by a pulse-quickening, 45-degree vertical drop before rocketing riders through five inversions, including a 121-foot-tall loop, a 103-foot dive loop, a 72-foot inclined loop and twisted double corkscrews.
