Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark Gets a New Actress

Reuters reports that American-Chinese-Filipino singer, songwriter and actress T.V. Carpio has been promoted in the Broadway play "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" to the role of Arachne, after actress Natalie Mendoza exited the production due to injury.

Mendoza left on December 30, saying she needed to recover from a head injury sustained when she was hit by a rope during the play’s first performance on November 28.

Carpio, who was originally cast as Miss Arrow, previously appeared in the "Turn Off the Dark" director Julie Taymor’s Across the Universe. Actress Alice Lee will now play Miss Arrow.

In related news, Christopher Tierney, the main aerialist who suffered multiple injuries from a 30-foot fall last month, talked to WCBS-TV about the incident. You can watch the interview and view footage of the accident below.
