X-Men: Daredevil MCU Villain Actor Has Perfect Response to Kit Connor’s Cyclops Casting

An MCU actor has recently provided an entertaining response to Kit Connor’s reported Cyclops casting. The duo previously shared the big screen in a 2025 release.

Michael Gandolfini reacted to Connor being cast as Cyclops in Marvel’s upcoming X-Men reboot. Taking to his Instagram story, the 27-year-old wrote, “Put those lazer eyes on me, Kit Connor.” Gandolfini is no stranger to the world of superheroes; in Daredevil: Born Again, the actor plays the role of Daniel Blake.

This reaction came on the heels of reports revealing Marvel’s Cyclops decision. With the mutants now an integral part of the MCU, there has been regular news about the X-Men casting. Before Connor was finalized, there were numerous rumors about who would play Cyclops, including internet speculation pointing to Cooper Hoffman, though that ultimately did not come to pass.

Kit Connor and Michael Gandolfini previously shared the screen in Warfare

The relationship between Connor and Gandolfini traces back to Warfare, which was released in 2025. While Connor played the role of Tommy, Gandolfini portrayed Lt. Macdonald.

The synopsis of the movie reads, “A platoon of Navy SEALs embark on a dangerous mission in Ramadi, Iraq, with the chaos and brotherhood of war retold through their memories of the event.”

Warfare was co-written and directed by Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza. The movie received a lot of positive responses at the box office from the fans. Critics, too, seemed to like the narrative the directors tried to convey. Warfare received a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer, while the Popcornmeter also read a solid 92%.

Currently, there is no news as to whether Gandolfini and Connor will share the screen in the MCU or not. However, with two major Avengers movies coming up, fans will surely be eager to see what happens next.
