Lewis Pullman has teased the Sentry’s “unexpected” journey in Avengers: Doomsday. Pullman is reprising his role as Bob from 2025’s Thunderbolts* or The New Avengers.
What did Lewis Pullman say about Avengers: Doomsday?
Pullman shared an intriguing tease about Bob’s role in the upcoming ensemble. Speaking with Deadline, the actor said, “I’m excited to see it myself. So, I would be lying if I would just tell you what to expect, because I don’t know, I haven’t seen the darn thing. But I know for a fact that there are a lot of beloved characters who resume their journeys in very unexpected ways, that it’s going to really, I think, keep people wanting to probably see it more than one time.”
Bob was a central part of Thunderbolts, helping bring the ragtag team of misfit mercenaries together to save New York and himself. His darker side, the Sentry, has shown immense power, described as all of the Avengers rolled into one. However, Bob can’t simply unleash the Sentry to save the day, as doing so puts everyone around him at risk.

With the Avengers, X-Men, and the Fantastic Four all going up against Doctor Doom, fans are eager to see how Bob fits into the story. Bob isn’t the only one with a surprising role, as Marvel boss Kevin Feige recently teased Ant-Man’s unexpected new stature in the MCU. The upcoming film will feature more than a dozen characters, with the Sentry among its most powerful.
A recent rumor also points to Bob/Sentry leading his own Disney+ show after the Avengers saga wraps up. Outside of Avengers, the actor is teaming up with Vanessa Kirby for a new sci-fi movie.
Avengers: Doomsday is currently slated to release in theaters on December 18, 2026. The film will be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars the following year.
