Following Avengers: Doomsday‘s viral cast announcement, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige teased fans to expect more cast reveals in the future. Because of this, fans assumed that the studio would make another announcement similar to what they did with the director’s chairs. However, it looks like that won’t be the case at all, as a new rumor suggests that the studio has no plans to make a second wave of cast announcements for Doomsday.
What’s the new update for Avengers: Doomsday?
According to insider MyTimetoShineHello, Avengers: Doomsday will reportedly not be receiving a second chair reveal for the movie’s remaining cast members. The insider claimed that there’s really no need to announce the other characters since they would only appear as cameos. He believes that Marvel Studios’ next chair reveal will be for the Avengers: Secret Wars cast.
“There will never be a second chair reveal for Avengers: Doomsday. The people from the first chair reveal are the leads,” the insider wrote on X. “The only one missing is Steve, and that’s on purpose. The other roles in the film are small or cameo appearances, so no need to ‘reveal’ them.”
Avengers: Doomsday is being directed by Avengers: Endgame filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo from a screenplay written by Stephen McFeely. The latest installment will feature the return of Marvel vets Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth, with the Oppenheimer actor set to play a completely different role this time in the form of Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom. The ensemble cast will also include Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Lewis Pullman, Simu Liu, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, and Danny Ramirez.
The fifth installment will also feature the return of X-Men stars Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Channing Tatum as Gambit. Recent casting rumors suggested that Doctor Strange, Deadpool, Peggy Carter, Steve Rogers, and Spider-Man might also appear in Doomsday.
