Fans of Jurassic World Rebirth might not have to wait too long until the sequel, Jurassic World 5, arrives.
Jurassic World Rebirth was released in United States theaters this past July. Directed by Gareth Edwards, the Universal Pictures movie serves as the fourth Jurassic World movie and the seventh installment overall in the Jurassic Park franchise. It stars Scarlett Johansson as Zora Bennett, Mahershala Ali as Duncan Kincaid, Jonathan Bailey as Dr. Henry Loomis, and Rupert Friend as Martin Krebs.
Jurassic World Rebirth was a huge hit at the box office, as it made approximately $868.5 million globally. While there hasn’t been any formal announcement from Universal about another sequel, all signs are pointing to that being the case.
What is the Jurassic World 5 release date update?
According to insider EmpireCity Box Office, next up on Universal’s agenda is “fast tracking another [Jurassic World movie] for 2027.” That depends, however, on “if they can get all the parts to fit. If not, 2028 would be it.”
The account notes, “I think they will get it done for 2027.”
While this isn’t official confirmation that Jurassic World 5 will indeed be coming in 2027 (or 2028), EmpireCity Bo Office has a good track record when it comes to release dates. They accurately said that the follow-up to Superman would be released in 2027. Just a couple of weeks after that, James Gunn formally announced that Man of Tomorrow will hit theaters on July 9, 2027.
Given that Universal hasn’t said anything about Jurassic World 5, there’s been no official word regarding who will direct the movie or which actors will be reprising their roles. In September, scooper Daniel Richtman reported that Johansson will return in Jurassic World Rebirth 2, though this has yet to be confirmed.
As the wait for Jurassic World 5 continues, Jurassic World Rebirth can now be streamed on Peacock.
