Spider-Man 4 Update Suggests MCU’s Hulk Will Be Scarier Than Ever Before

A new MCU rumor suggests that Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk will be scarier than ever before in Spider-Man 4.

Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man 4, also known as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is currently in production. Directed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ Destin Daniel Cretton, the film will see Tom Holland once again reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. The movie currently has a July 2026 release date.

What is the new Spider-Man 4 update?

Scooper Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus was asked if there was anything he could tease about Hulk’s role in Spider-Man 4 and Avengers: Doomsday. Ruffalo’s casting in Avengers: Doomsday and the sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, has not been confirmed at this time, though many have speculated he’ll have some sort of presence in one or both movies.

“Hulk is scarier than ever before,” Perez answered. “He might even kill someone.”

Official plot details for both Spider-Man 4 and Avengers: Doomsday remain under wraps at this time, meaning this is just a rumor and should be treated as such.

When asked if there were any plans at Marvel for a World War Hulk or Planet Hulk project, Perez said that a potential project was “still in development,” though no further details are available at this time.

The cast of Spider-Man 4 also includes Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon as Need Leeds, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, and Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, the latter of whom hasn’t been seen in the MCU since 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. Additionally, Severance’s Trammel Tillman, The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas, and Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink have been cast in undisclosed roles.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released in United States theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU. Avengers: Doomsday follows on December 18, 2026.
