Star Wars Reportedly Eying The Last of Us Actor for New Role

A new Star Wars casting rumor claimed that Lucasfilm is reportedly looking to enlist a Golden Globe-nominated actor for a potential new role in one of its upcoming projects. Should this be proven, this would mark the young star’s first major movie franchise.

Who is potentially joining the Star Wars universe?

According to MyTimeToShineHello, Lucasfilm is reportedly considering Bella Ramsey to join the Star Wars universe. This potential casting would place Ramsey in another popular franchise with The Last of Us co-star Pedro Pascal. The latter will be reprising his fan-favorite role as Din Djarin in the highly anticipated The Mandalorian and Grogu movie, which will arrive in theaters on May 22, 2026. Before the acclaimed action horror drama, Pascal and Ramsey both had breakout roles in HBO’s Game of Thrones.

The insider didn’t mention which project Ramsey was being considered for, but Lucasfilm currently has multiple movies and shows in the works at the moment. These include: Shawn Levy’s upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter movie with Ryan Gosling, Taika Waititi’s long-in-development project, the highly-anticipated Rey Skywalker movie with Daisy Ridley, James Mangold’s Dawn of the Jedi movie, Ahsoka Season 2, and more.

Besides this Star Wars casting rumor, last June, it was also previously reported that Ramsey was being eyed for a “big Marvel role” in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For their leading performance as Ellie in The Last of Us Season 2, Ramsey earned a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at the upcoming Emmy Awards.
