A new Spider-Man 4 rumor has surfaced online, teasing the introduction of one of Marvel’s most iconic Spider-Man villains. Production on Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ next Tom Holland-led superhero movie is expected to begin soon.

Will Spider-Man 4 introduced a new MCU villain?

According to insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are reportedly planning to introduce a new version of the fan-favorite Marvel villain Norman Osborn/Green Goblin in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The character was famously played by acclaimed actor Willem Dafoe in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, and in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, which served as the villain’s first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The movie will once again be led by Tom Holland as he reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Emmy winner Zendaya and Jacob Batalo are also expected to return for the sequel. They will be joined by recently announced cast members Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) and Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear), with Jon Bernthal (Daredevil: Born Again) as Frank Castle/Punisher. The movie is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Avi Arad, and Louis D’Esposito.

The movie is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 31, 2026, pitting it against no direct competition at the box office. However, it will still be debuting in the same month as other high-profile movies like the live-action Moana and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey adaptation.
