Amazon MGM Studios has finally shared the first Project Hail Mary poster for its upcoming sci-fi epic drama led by Academy Award nominee Ryan Gosling. The movie is scheduled to make its debut on March 20, 2026.

The studio has also confirmed that Project Hail Mary’s official trailer will finally release on Monday, June 30. Fans who attended the recent CinemaCon event last April were the first ones who got the chance to watch the first trailer during the Amazon MGM Studios panel. Besides Gosling, the cast also includes Oscar nominee Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall, The Zone of Interest), Milana Vayntrub (This Is Us, Werewolves Within), Bastian Antonio Fuentes (Jurassic World Dominion), Isla McRae (The Christmas Quest), and James Wright (How to Train A Princess).
“Science teacher Ryland Grace wakes up on a spaceship light years from home with no recollection of who he is or how he got there,” reads the official synopsis. “As his memory returns, he begins to uncover his mission: solve the riddle of the mysterious substance causing the sun to die out. He must call on his scientific knowledge and unorthodox ideas to save everything on Earth from extinction… but an unexpected friendship means he may not have to do it alone.
Project Hail Mary is directed by Oscar-winning filmmaking duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller from a screenplay written by Drew Goddard, based on Andy Weir’s 2021 novel of the same name. According to Goddard, fans of Matt Damon’s The Martian will like what they have in store for the upcoming sci-fi feature due to its similar tone. It is produced by Lord, Miller, Gosling, Weir, Amy Pascal, and more.
