Spider-Man 4: Hulk Won’t Be Only Returning MCU Character Says Insider

A new rumor regarding Spider-Man 4, also known as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, has emerged online.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be the fourth film in the MCU Tom Holland series of Spider-Man movies. Holland will once again reprise his role, while Sadie Sink has been tapped to play an undisclosed character.

What is the latest Spider-Man 4 rumor?

There has recently been a flurry of rumors suggesting that Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk/Bruce Banner will appear in Spider-Man 4, though this has not been confirmed by Marvel Studios at this time. And, according to insider Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus, Hulk won’t be the only returning MCU character to show up in Brand New Day.

“The most recent rumor I heard is that we may be looking at a number of established MCU characters popping up in this film, not just Bruce in particular,” Perez said. “Normally, it’s just 1, 2 or even 3 MCU characters appearing in these films, but I heard we may be actually getting a couple of more showing up this time around.”

Regarding Bruce/Hulk’s supposed role in Spider-Man 4, Perez said, “What I heard involves a connection dating back to the earliest days of the MCU and exploring some uncharted territory for both characters’ personal histories.”

This is just a rumor at this time that should be taken with a grain of salt. Not only has Ruffalo’s Spider-Man 4 casting not been confirmed, but it’s also unclear if the character will appear in Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars, as he was not part of the initial Doomsday casting announcement.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is being directed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ Destin Daniel Cretton. The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas has also been cast in the movie, but, like Sink, it is unclear who she is playing at this time.

Spider-Man 4 hits United States theaters on July 31, 2026, from Marvel and Sony.
